Jeff Gunhus -SilentThreat – A Wild Ride

So if you’re in a Dollar Tree over the next few weeks and see a book titled Silent Threat buy it! You should buy it because it’s everything that Steve Berry says about this Jeff Gunhus book on the front cover. “With an aplha female herione and a tantaliuzing premise, this hard-edged, gripping thrillermatches wits and wiles, delivering an entertaining romp” Mara Roberts is the female herione and we meet her in the first sentence, which drew me into the book immediately……. Mara Roberts knew the Agency would try to kill her father the day he got out of prison;…

The Resting Place -Camilla Sten ( Book 30 of 2022)

Now that I am semi back into the swing of writing blog posts, I’ll first try to write about the books that I am currently reading, or just finished. With that being said, I just finished The Resting Place by Camilla Sten and it was really, really good! The Resting Place is Camilla Sten’s second novel. The first was internationally acclaimed The Lost Village. Rights for The Lost Village have been sold to 17 territories around the world including film and TV. And based on The Resting Place I’m sure it’s terrific! In fact I just checked the Ebook version out…

More Books! After a Trip to Book World and Goodwill! Yeah!

So if you complain about how much someone drinks , you don’t take them to a bar! Likewise for someone who over eats you don’t take them to an all you can eat joint. Finally, if you don’t like how many books someone has you don’t take them to places where they can by cheap books! This is the result when you do…… And it happened this past Saturday when we were babysitting our grandson Oliver. Our First Stop – Book World We made two stops the first was Book World in Cherry Hill, NJ. The store has a large…

Loren D. Estleman – The Witchfinder (Amos Walker #12)

My third read of 2022 took me back to those thrilling reads of yesteryear. Well, at least back to the 1990’s. When the books of Loren D. Estleman we’re a big part of my yearly reading. Estleman writes both westerns and mysteries. The mystery books feature Amos Walker P.I. and the series was one of my favorites. This Man’s Proposed January Reads…..

This Man’s Proposed January Reads….. This year 2022, the number of books I have listed on my Goodreads Reading Challenge is the same as 2021 60 books. To reach that goal I need to read 5 books per month. After creating this site and reacquainting myself with authors I have read through the years, I am going to include in the books I hope to read books from those authors. In most of those cases it will be books I have missed in their series. My goal will be to read at least two of those books each month….

Sculpting My Proposed June Reading List – Part 1 From  My Mountain of “To Be Read” library books.   Yesterday I mentioned my Mountain of “To Be Read” library books. The above photograph shows nine of the books I have checked out. The first  thing you must understand is that all of the books were not checked out on the same day. Now I don’t know if any of you have this problem. I have a tendency to take two books back and bring home three! Take back three bring home four and before long you have a stack like the…

Crooked River – Preston & Child – Pendergast is Gold Again!

If you’ve read some of my past blog posts you probably know that I am a fan of mystery and thriller series. Some of those series I have been reading religiously for 20 or more years. Others I have read several books, stopped a lost track of the series. The Agent Pendergast series from Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child is one of the later. I read the first two books in the series Relic and Reliquary, which were terrific. Then I read several more books in the series. I also enjoyed those books. However, through the years other books always…

Thoughts of the November Man lead to Series I Miss!

Thoughts of The November Man and Three Missed Series  So the other day while I was straightening up, I came across one of my old book journals. The journal covers the years from 1992 to 2000 (roughly my 40s). Anyway, when I was looking at the journal, I also for some reason checked my Goodreads’ bookshelves. I discovered  none of the books from 1993 were listed. So I  started out to shelve the books. Book No. 8 for the year was Burning the Apostle  by Bill Granger. It is the 13th and final book in Granger’s November Man series. The first November…
