A Hopeful Running Reboot – Music by Tinsley Ellis

Ice Cream in Hell - Tinsley Ellis

The Run Ok so hopefully today may be the start of my running year. My daughter-in-law went into work at noon today and that gave me plenty of time to get a run in this morning. And since the temperature was in the mid-40s it was perfect. Now if my daughter in law can give me one day a week where she starts work at !1:00 or 12 maybe I could keep it up! The last time I ran it was in the afternoon around dinner time and I ran a course that avoided crossing any major streets. The normal…

John Mayall Makes A Good Run Better! Try It

Nobody Told Me - John Mayall

John Mayall Makes A Good Run Better! Try It The Run Yesterday’s was one of those days that was about as close to perfect as you can get. First we were going to be babysitting our grandson Logan all day while his parents and older sister went to Six Flags. The good thing was we didn’t need to be there until 9:30. That meant that I could run around 8:00 and and be done and showered by 9:30. So I got up at 7:00 did some warm up exercising and was out the door by 8:00. I ran a 3.1…

I added some resistance band, kettle Bell, light weights and some calisthenics. The workout was. 22 minutes long and I burned.209 calories. About a half hour later I ran.. The soundtrack was Black from the Kerry Kearney Band Oh I believe my pre-run cool down included a 22 minute meditation! Later in the day I did another shorter meditation. The Longshot Brandon Santini’s Strong Blues & Rock Mix

The Longshot from blues harpist Brandon Santini has been in my music rotation for a few weeks now. And I am enjoying more each time I listen to it! I first listened to Brandon’s music back in 2015. It was around the time he released his album Live &Extended. I’ve been a fan ever since! You can read my post about Live & Extended here In my opinion Brandon ranks right up there with the best of today’s blues harpists. Santini’s album This Time Another Year was nominated as “Contemporary Blues Album” of the year at the 2014 Blues Music Awards. Brandon was also…

A Good 5K Made Better By Killin’It Live by Tommy Castro

Killin It Live - Tommy Castro

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Yesterday was Day 3 of the Drive for 5 challenge and it was a good day. The day started with a short morning dance-cardio with Kettle Bell and Resistance bands added. That was followed by a 3.16 mile run.
Wednesdays are usually a non-running day but I couldn’t decide whether I would run in the early morning or early afternoon and finally didn’t run either time. Yesterday I decided I had to go early and the important part was I did! The Run I added a few exercises to my morning routine on Tuesday which left my legs…

Walter Trout’s Survivor Blues Powers Tuesday’s Run

Survivor Blues - Walter Trout

The Run 3.14 Miles So today was supposed to be colder with a chance of some snow, so yesterday was the better day to run. Since my knee still felt slightly funky I decided that once again , I would run my standard 3.1 mile course. By the time I reached the first mile mark my leg felt pretty good. I was running at a 10:01 min/mile pace and running easily,. As I continued my run, I tried to keep my pace a little slower than my last couple of runs. To do that I kept a close eye on…

An Afternoon Pick Me Up – “Pigeon Swing” Blues from Tomislav Goluban

Let’s Go “Into The Afternoon” with “Pigeon Swing” From Tomislav Goluban How about an early afternoon”pick me up”! Here’s Tomislav Goluban with “Pigeon Swing” the opening track of his latest release Chicago Ranbler. I first discovered his music back in 2015 when I listened to his release Blow Junkie. You can check out my review of Blow Junkie and more about Tomislav here From his website biography…. After 10 studio albums, the proverb “The older – the crazier” definitely applies to Croatian harmonica player Tomislav “Little Pigeon” Goluban, whose songs and performances burst with energy, passion, humour and above all, fantastic music….

Today’s Run 4 Miles with a Hill! Music Murder Creek by Wicked Grin

Murder Creek - Murray Kinsely

The Run – Four Miles with a Hill! So after two very cold days the temperatures today rose into the high 40s. As such, it became the first running day of the week. Since I do t like to run on back to back days and Friday is a Target work day, it’s looked like today would be the only run until the weekend. I therefore decided I would make it a tougher run than my normal 5K run. I decided the run would be four miles and would include a run up the highest hill in the…

My Fastest Training 5K-Music by Bryce Janey

Tuesday night before bed I checked what kind of temperatures to expect yesterday morning. The temperatures were predicted to be in the mid-30s, which is perfectly acceptable, to this weather runner! My temperature law is that anything below 30 is just a little too cold! Anyway, I was thinking about adding some distance to my 5K run and running four miles. I actually did a little work around the house before my run, so I decided to stay with my 5K run. When I was contemplating my run I want to map the route before hitting the road. I previously…
